St Theresa’s Athletic Club (STAC)
Wecome to STAC…. A friendly and supportive running club based in East Leeds. We are a medium-sized Club, with a Membership base of 200 people of mixed ages and running abilities. We will celebrate our 40th Anniversary in 2023 and we are proud that some of our Members have remained with us since our very first run.
New Members: Are always welcome to pop along to one of our training sessions and join us, support is always there via coaches and Members and you’ll be placed with a Group that matches your running needs and ability. Come along for a few trial sessions before completing the joining form / process. We look forward to meeting you.
Training: takes place throughout the week in a variety of locations in East Leeds. We have over 20 England Athletics qualifed run leaders and we offer sessions for the elites preparing for the big race to those just wanting a social run and everything in-between. You can see what's on and book on this week's sessions, plus learn more about some of our regular sessions in the training section.
Club Championship League(s): We hold Club Championship (League) Races each year which include local road and trail races at a variety of distances that will appeal to all.
Parkrun: has been a great introduction to running for many of our members, providing them with a 5k platform to build on. Member representation at our local parkrun event, Temple Newsam, including Run Directors. We also do a parkrun league competition for our members of all abilities.
Our beginners course is held over 20 weeks, commencing in March/April. We have an experience Group of leaders and volunteers who will guide you through sessions that will enable you to achieve the goal of running non-stop for 30 minutes. Temple Newsam (TNT) 10: We are delighted to hold our own 10 mile multi-terrain Race within the fabulous grounds of Temple Newsam Estate (and surrounding areas). The event is well recognised within the local race circuit and now sells out quickly every year. More information here.
Local Events / Competitions: As a Club we are well recognised within the Leeds running scene and actively participate in local running competitions such as Leeds Country Way (LCW), PECO XC (Cross Country League), Yorkshire Vets Athletics Association Grand Prix (YVAA) and Leeds Race Series.
Social Events: It’s not all about the running…. We are family friendly and like to have fun. We hold several functions and events throughout the year which range from days out at the Races to picnics and games in the Park.
Juniors: STAC Juniors starts in May 2018 running fortnightluy sessions delivered by volunteers for school year groups 2-11.
