Thursday 4th January 2018 – Hill Pyramids

New Year – Same Hills!

Meeting as usual 6:30pm at the winter meeting point at the end of the cycle path from Colton, a gentle warm-up jog to Temple Newsam House. Please stick together and try and run with and talk to someone you don’t know too well! We will be using the first parkrun hill which leads from the lake up to the house.

A 6 point Hill Pyramid session 1 being the shortest, 6 being the longest. Hard efforts up to the house and recovery downhill to the next point. When you get to point 6 start coming back up the pyramid so 1-2-3-4-5-6-5-4-3-2-1 the quicker runners can do the longest reps twice and/or run a bit faster downhill if they wish. Repeat pyramid depending on time. Session will be explained on the night and all are welcome. Suitable for all abilities as you go at your own pace.

Run and recover on the LEFT so we don’t have any collisions and also don’t forget bright, reflective clothing and lights.

Most important –  at this time of year, we have new members or returning runners with resolutions to get in shape for spring so please be extra welcoming and encouraging. And if you are new to the club don’t expect people to know that you are new or assume that someone has been coming longer than you. Don’t be shy, get to know your fellow members. It’s all part of the great STAC spirit!
