Tuesday Night Run


A bit of an old favourite with plenty of places to get some speedwork in.

Route (sub 7 min pace – 9 min mile pace)

1. Turn right out of the centre to Barwick Road/Leeds Road

2. Left onto Barwick Road, all the way to the roundabout

3. Over the roundabout, then…..

(For speedwork, optional)

4. Turn left onto Cross Gates Lane (just before the parade of takeaways), down to the Mecca Bingo, then right at Mecca down to the junction of York Road (opposite Burger King), this is around 1.04 miles.

5. Then, down to the junction of York Road and Selby Road (this is just under a mile)

6. Left up Halton Hill to the Lidl

Quick group turn right at Lidl and head down Temple Newsam Road to New Temple Gate

Turn left and follow the 19 bus route up to Templegate Avenue, turn right there, then left onto Temple Gate to bring you back onto Selby Road, right and to the Skyliner

7. Medium Group, Carry on up Selby Road to the Skyliner

Depending on time, either straight down Whitkirk Lane to the centre or down to Cross Gates then back to the centre

For a 6 mile run (10 min mile pace)

Route

1. Turn right out of the centre to Barwick Road/Leeds Road

2. Left onto Barwick Road, all the way to the roundabout

3. Over the roundabout, then all the way down past Asda to junction of York Road/Selby Road

4. Left up Halton Hill past the Tesco Express

5. Left down Chapel Street then Green Lane (past the Leodis) to Cross Gates

6. Back to the centre
