STAC Championship 2019 – Race 1 (Meltham)


The 2019 STAC club championship kicked off with the aptly name Meltham ‘Tough’ 10k, seeing a great turnout of  25 club runners.

Taking place in ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ territory it felt far from summer with the cold January conditions, whilst there was a bit of pre-race whining at the prospect of an initial 4 mile climb into the biting wind!

There were some fantastic results for some STAC runners, with Richard Herrington finishing 5th overall, Chris Gill top of his age category and Annie Roddy, Sam Jackon, Michelle Smale and David Morley all finishing in the top 5 of their categories.

In the club championship Richard and Tillie Clark take an early lead:
