Regrettably, Paul Ebrey had made the decision to stand down as Mens Captain.
The following is the email sent last month by Helen:
On behalf of the committee and all club members we wish to thank Paul for his commitment, hard work, ideas and the energy he brought to the club on his appointment. Now this leaves a space in not only in the club leadership but also on the committee, which is vital to the management and organisation of the club. Therefore applicants are invited from those who wish to take over from Paul and continue the progress of this position. You don’t need to have been a member of the club for years and years, but it is important that you are able to attend Tuesday club nights and/or Thursday training evenings and be known to and by fellow members. The committee meet once a month on a Tuesday after running.
Should you wish to discuss the role then please feel free to talk to both Nicky Coop, Ladies Captain or Chris Gill, Chairman.
Should you wish to put your name forward, please send an email to Chris Gill email@example.com before the end of July – please note this is the deadline and names received after this date will not be considered.
To help with your decision, Chris has penned the following ‘job description’:
You do not have to be fleet of foot to be leader of the Stacies men. An active runner you must be and able to sit on the committee. Your main aims are to encourage those to wear the vest with pride since it is revered far and wide and when team events come around you muster a rallying call so a band of brothers we become to strike fear into one and all. So if you would like to give it a go drop me a line and let me know.
If you think you would like to fill this position, please let Chris know asap.
