To mark the end of the STAC Beginners Session a paired race will be run called the “Jam Pot Challenge” (named in honour of Mike Sellars who played such a big part in the STAC beginners programme).
Each “completed beginner” will be paired with an established member of STAC.
Date: Thursday 16th July
Start and Finish: Parkrun Finish at Temple Newsam (by Mike’s Tree)
Each pair will then run three loops
• Loop 1 – Run as a pair out and back round tree (red route on attached map)
• Loop 2 – Pair Splits.
Beginner runs the Parkrun course the “wrong way” round (clockwise). Established runner runs it the usual way (anticlockwise). When they meet they turn immediately round and run back to the start line the same way they came (beginners please do not divert through the bushes on the way back, stay on the road)
• Loop 3 – Run as a pair out and back round tree (purple route on attached map)
Please note Loop 3 cannot start until both runners are back from their Parkrun loop.
Winners are the first pair to complete all 3 loops.
PLEASE NOTE This Jam Pot Challenge will replace the usual Thursday Training session on the 16th of July.
