Committee Members

STAC Committee meet on the 3rd or 4th Tuesday of the month after training.    It’s an open Committee and Members are always very welcome to put forward their ideas or attend in person.  There is always Committee representation at Training Sessions and Club Runs and we are all friendly and approachable….   Alternatively, please contact us via:  secretary@sttheresasac.org.uk

About me: I was fairly sporty at school and selected for short distance and relay teams but didn’t fully embrace it, despite being in a local Athletics Club, I spent most of my time sat on the side-lines chatting with my mates.  I didn’t think I could run as fast or as far as my peers and although I enjoyed running, I  was lacking in self-belief.  This changed once I joined STAC and I had the training and support to progress from 5k’s to 10’ks and beyond..  reducing my times and developing my running confidence in the process.  Long distance is now my preference, I’ve competed in 3 Marathon’s and I’m a sucker for a half mara (my fave distance)…  I enjoy building up my miles in training and use my solo runs to unwind from life’s going-on…

About me:  I got into running about 5 years ago, I blame Terry Midgley for it. I soon joined St Theresa’s which was a much smaller club then it is now but a great bunch of guys who made me feel very welcome. Terry took me on my first run of about 3 miles and I won’t lie it almost finished me off. A tale he still talks of to this day. Now my fav distance is the marathon and I have completed 12 so far in the last 3 years. Best tip I can give is enjoy it and don’t get caught up in chasing a pb all the time.

About me:
My sporting history is as a junior athlete for Middlesbrough and Cleveland Harriers. I was quite successful at 100m, 200m & Long jump but I think 400m would have been my best event. However, I drifted away from athletics when I came to University in Leeds. I somehow did the Leeds half marathon in 2001 but I didn’t run regularly until just before Temple Newsam parkrun started. I fell in love with parkrun and all the great people involved. I joined St Theresa’s soon after to keep motivated to get fitter for parkrun! I’m amazed to have since completed road and trail marathons, fell races, an ultra (never thought as a 100m sprinter I’d do anything like that) and have loved every minute of being a member of STAC.
